6 Months

This month we spend lots of time with family and friends between Easter and Max's baptism. We spent Easter with the O'Riley family and Max was baptized this weekend too! It was a wonderful celebration of God and all that he blessed us with. We have moved onto some new baby food this month too! We are starting to introduce a few new foods, but spinach and peas are still his favorite! We also found out that he is allergic to bananas and isn't a huge fan of any stage 2 foods! He spits them right out at us and gags. Poor guy! He has also hit the pool this month for swimming lessons. He absolutely loves them and has been in the water with mommy and daddy Both. He also took his first air plane ride to Charleston, SC for Ashley and Bucky's wedding reception! He traveled amazingly well. I however need to learn to pack better...i think i backed everything in his room for this trip and we did not need half of it. While we were there we visited with the whole Ooton gang and Max was loved on by all of his family, especially Uncle Bud. We even hit the beach for the first time with out little man. It was cold but beautiful all the same!

Fun things we did this month:
- We took max to his first wedding, for Ashley & Bucky, in Charleston
- Max took his first airplane ride: St. Louis to Atlanta, Atlanta to Charleston & on the way home Charleston to NYC and NYC to St. Louis
- Max was baptized and we had a huge celebration to mark this milestone in his life
- Max started swimming lessons

My must haves for moms:
- A change of clothes for the car, with being on the go this is a MUST have! (you may thing the diaper bag is enough but.....its not)

This month we carried on some old tradition and created some new ones of our own. We feel so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful family and friends, and are thankful each day to have them to share these special moments with. We have made it our routine as of this month to visit Great Grandma & Grandpa in Maroa on friday nights after work. We love this little tradition and they look forward to seeing his growth each week. We also FINALLY got our basement done this month and hosted out first game night since Max was born. We celebrated Max's first St. Patrick's Day with the Dougherty's by continuing our tradition of family dinner on St. Patricks Day. We always get together for dinner and drink some green beer! Don't worry... no green beer for Maxie Moo! This month we are also preparing for his upcoming baptism and Easter with the family. Aunt Megan and Tony and coming to visit with their newest addition Reggie and we can't wait to meet him! Max has started laughing and dogs barking are one of his favorite things to laugh at. We have also signed Max up for swimming lessons and look forward to getting our little water lover in the pool!

Well we have made it to 2013!!! I had my first day back to work and we are trying to adjust to this new life. Thankfully Max has really started sleeping well and are slowly adjusting to our new "normal." My first day back to work was heartbreaking but we have the most wonderful babysitter!!! I am tearing up as i type this because i know he is in such wonderful hand every day and is surrounded by so much love. I loves getting to see all of the kids each day and is growing so much from his daily interaction with thim. He is especially fond of his buddy Cooper that he spends his days with. I am amongst wonderful company too and i absolutely couldn't have done it with out my wonderful ADM work family! My group is so much fun and being amongst other working moms is beyond helpful! We also had our first cough this month & trip to the Doctor. This turned into being diagnosed with and ear infection and being on medicine for the very first time. We hate to see out happy little guy sick but he doesn't seem to let it get to him too much! He is still all smiles and for that we love him. During this trip to the doctor we were also given the go ahead to start cereal!!! We are thrilled for this, especially since Max is such an aggressive eater. Here we go.....

Fun things we did this month:
- Celebrated Mommy's 26th Birthday
- Started Oatmeal.... & We LOVE it!!!
- Have truly started sleeping through the night :)
- Mommy went back to work & Max started at the baby sitter
- Aunt Amanda was my first Valentine
-We went to visit Max's Great-Great-Great Aunt Deloris who is turning 100 this June! We had such a wonderful visit and we even got to hold him.
- Max slept in his crib for the first time ALL night! He is such a good baby! God has truly blessed us with him.

My must haves for moms:
-i feel like i have named everything....
- Y cut nippled for oatmeal feedings!!! These were soooo hard to find. Babies R Us was where we finally found them
- Lilly Pad pillow! Max loves to sleep on this and it is 1,000x better than the regular boppy pillow for us.
