Baby Oz is a...BOY!!!

This past weekend was Mother's Day (my first Mother's Day to be exact) and it will for sure make next year nothing short of a dream! Friday at work i was not feeling so well, but attributed it to some lingering "morning sickness." Well, come saturday i felt like i had the flu and had kept nothing down so i called the doctor. The doctor decided it would be best to go to the hospital to get some medicine and fluids. Since it was Mother's Day my mommy took me to the hospital and sat with me for a couple hours, as i got my IV cocktail. Later, Brad came and joined us and took the second shift. The most amazing part of the day was the medicine that they gave me in my IV right before i went home! The nurse injected it (to help with the headache i had) and told me i would be feeling a rush soon. Before i knew it my neck and head got really warm. Then they made sure to let Brad know that i was not to drive home, because i would be feeling a little "drunk" from the medicine. I was feeling drunk and it was amazing...as i had not felt like that in months! It was amazing and i slept all day with no trouble...i didn't even have a hangover! Ever since then i have been feeling great and my doctor attributes it to the flu and my weakened immune system.

Well...after the longest ultrasound session ever we found out we are having a BOY!!! Our little man was not about showing himself to mommy, daddy, and the rest of the family yesterday at our appointment. He was  smashed in the corner with his legs crossed and hands behind his head. He was lounging out while we were yelling at him to move! Then after he finally decided to move, his hands were covering the area! (I think he gets this from his cousin Dylan) At this point we thought that we were done and would just have to wait, but our nurse told me to go eat/drink and come back...see if some food would get him going! So we tried it all... a half a sandwich, some soda (just this once), and ice cream ice cream (Brad's favorite).  We even tried taking turns rubbing my tummy and talking to him. He finally moved but the cord was now between the legs, and as you can imagine that can be mistaken for boy parts. This made it extremely tricky for the nurse to find what she was looking for..but finally he decided to let us know! She got pictures from the front, back, side, and upside down! It was such a relief to FINALLY know and we could not be happier. We celebrate what turned out to be a long day by having dinner with our family. As you can imagine "The Brad Dad" as we like to call him is super excited! I was excited as well and of course immediately went shopping! Thank goodness it wasn't a girl or i am afraid of how much money i might have blown last night! Never the less, i got some really cute things! I will post some pictures of the little guy soon!

I am running a little behind...this week has been crazy between the new job and appointments but i will have the 17 week post up soon! Thanks =)

4 Month Milestone!

How Far Along16 weeks as of TODAY!

Size of baby:  Baby Oz is the size of a avocado... about 41/2 inches long! However are these size estimations are correct when you husband is a giant?!?!?

Maternity Clothes:  Well, mom and I went shopping for some maternity clothes which was a HUGE flop! There is absolutely nothing...so we hope to try shopping in a bigger city soon (maybe we will have more luck there)! Lucky for me it is getting warmer and I can just wear dresses more =)

Gender:  We find out Tuesday!!! I am beyond excited for this day...finally we can start shopping & pick a name! wooo hooo What does everyone think....boy or girl???

Movement:  I have read that i will be able to feel this little nugget soon, so that should be interesting. I have no idea what to expect with this...and if i can't see it...then how can i feel it?

Sleep:  I am still going to bed fairly early! This week i have really been sleeping well (mostly because i have the entire bed to myself)! Brad has been in Las vegas for work, and i miss him but the extra room has been quite nice.

What I miss: I miss laying on my back & having the energy to get things done! My OCD doesn't work quite right with out the energy to clean and organize.

Cravings:   I'm mostly craving really healthy food which is strange... I want salad all the time! Also, i had some amazing fresh pineapple that my mom cut for me and i want it all the time now! More than anything i really want some Menchie's frozen yogurt...aka i need a trip to Atlanta!

Symptoms:  No morning/all day sickness this week! Huge milestone for this girl.

Best Moment this week:  The best moment this week was not baby related but i am sure baby will appreciate it very much in the long run. I got a promotion at work at will move and start training for it next week! I am beyond thrilled and i know Brad is too, i just wish we were together this week to celebrate! Also, last night when i got home from work i changed my clothes and....my jeans still fit!!! I can tell they are getting snug (especially after i ate) but they button!!! I let out a huge scream in celebration. Its the little things :)

Vegas Baby!

Well, it is FINALLY our last week of not knowing what Baby Oz is! Brad is in Las Vegas for a work convention, and i am home on a frantic name hunt. My friend, Amanda, is helping me out with that a lot via e-mail at work and i think i will have a good list come ultrasound time. Luckily, i am not alone at home and  have had my friend, Ashley, staying with me and keeping me occupied. Last night we went to dinner for her grandpas's birthday at the beach house. He was so cute and of course i very much enjoyed the mac and cheese (it is my absolute favorite)! This past weekend my mom and i moved a lot of furniture  and are getting ready to start putting the nursery together! We have bought a few gender neutral things but are waiting to go nuts until we find out the sex. So what will it be....Pink? or Blue?

Aslo, this week i will be getting ready to play nurse! I have a lot of jello and pudding to make, which i think i will be doing tomorrow. I am doing it then, mostly because i will have Ashley (who can actually cook) will be there to help me (the one who is learning to cook). Brad is getting his wisdom teeth pulled on Wednesday...Ouch! I had mine pulled in high school and i can still remember how yucky i felt and my face being HUGE! Brad only has to get his top teeth removed, he was lucky and the bottom wisdom teeth never developed. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he does will and will be back to normal for Tuesdays ultrasound!

So much has changed this year! Last year i was in Las Vegas, poolside with a cocktail while Brad was at the convention. We were running around sight seeing, dining, and trying lots of yummy drinks and this year i couldn't even go out of fear that i would be sick the entire time. It is time to be a grown-up and concentrate on baby...even though fun sounds better some times! Our lives are about to really change and things are becoming real... as we get closer and closer to Baby Oz's arrival!

Keep On...Keeping On...

HOW FAR ALONG: 15 Weeeks!!!
SIZE OF BABY:  BABY OZ IS THE SIZE OF An apple-measuring about 4 inches long!
GENDER:  WE have about one more full weeek to live in suspense, before we find out the sex of baby oz!
MATERNITY CLOTHES:  I am still waiting for this "bump"....where is the baby bump?
MOVEMENT:  NO movement that i can feel, but we are hoping to see our little wiggle worm on the ultrasound on may, 15!
SLEEP:  LAST WEEK I HAD A FEW BURSTS OF ENERGY AND THIS WEEK HAS BEEN MORE OF THE SAME THING...SOME DAYS I HAVE IT AND OTHER DAYS I CAN'T STAY AWAKE! LAST NIGHT I WENT TO THE Y FOR ANOTHER WORKOUT AND WAS ABLE TO KEEP GOING FOR A FULL 1.5 HOURS! I FELL SO MUCH BETTER WHEN I CAN GET A WORKOUT IN...BUT SOMETIMES THE ENERGY IS JUST NOT THERE! ALSO, IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS TO SLEEP ON MY SIDE! I AM A BACK OR TUMMY SLEEPR AND I JUST CANT STAND SQUISHING MY ARM AND SLEEPING ON MY SIDE.
WHAT I MISS: I MISS BEING ABLE TO SLEEP ON MY TUMMY & BACK, DIET COKE, HAVING A SUMMER ADULT BEVERAGE, HAVING ENERGY ALL THE TIME, AND BEING ABLE TO REALLY EXERCISE!
CRAVINGS:   THIS MAY SOUND SUPER STANGE BUT I HAVE BEEN CRAVING SALAD! LITERALLY I WOULD EAT SALAD FOR BREAKFAST IF I COULD...AND HAVE BEEN EATING IT FOR LUNCH AND DINNER! OHHH AND I STILL LOVE MY MEXICAN FOOD (WHICH WASN'T WORKING FOR ME AT FIRST)  =)
SYMPTOMS:  MY MORING (AKA ALL DAY) SICKNESS IS BEGINNING TO SUBSIDE. IT IS NOT COMPLETELY GONE BUT IT IS DEFINITELY BETTER THAN IT WAS. I ONLY GOT SICK ONCE THIS WEEK, BUT HAVE FELT YUCKY MORE THAN THAT.
BEST MOMENT THIS WEEK: THE BEST MOMENT THIS WEEK WAS GETTING OUR FIRST BABY GIFT! WE GOT THE CUTEST LITTLE MTF ONSIE FROM MARTH CAMP! IT IS ADORABLE AND I CANT WAIT FOR OUT LITTLE TROJAN FAN TO WEAR IT TO A GAME.
