Baby Oz is a...BOY!!!

This past weekend was Mother's Day (my first Mother's Day to be exact) and it will for sure make next year nothing short of a dream! Friday at work i was not feeling so well, but attributed it to some lingering "morning sickness." Well, come saturday i felt like i had the flu and had kept nothing down so i called the doctor. The doctor decided it would be best to go to the hospital to get some medicine and fluids. Since it was Mother's Day my mommy took me to the hospital and sat with me for a couple hours, as i got my IV cocktail. Later, Brad came and joined us and took the second shift. The most amazing part of the day was the medicine that they gave me in my IV right before i went home! The nurse injected it (to help with the headache i had) and told me i would be feeling a rush soon. Before i knew it my neck and head got really warm. Then they made sure to let Brad know that i was not to drive home, because i would be feeling a little "drunk" from the medicine. I was feeling drunk and it was amazing...as i had not felt like that in months! It was amazing and i slept all day with no trouble...i didn't even have a hangover! Ever since then i have been feeling great and my doctor attributes it to the flu and my weakened immune system.

Well...after the longest ultrasound session ever we found out we are having a BOY!!! Our little man was not about showing himself to mommy, daddy, and the rest of the family yesterday at our appointment. He was  smashed in the corner with his legs crossed and hands behind his head. He was lounging out while we were yelling at him to move! Then after he finally decided to move, his hands were covering the area! (I think he gets this from his cousin Dylan) At this point we thought that we were done and would just have to wait, but our nurse told me to go eat/drink and come back...see if some food would get him going! So we tried it all... a half a sandwich, some soda (just this once), and ice cream ice cream (Brad's favorite).  We even tried taking turns rubbing my tummy and talking to him. He finally moved but the cord was now between the legs, and as you can imagine that can be mistaken for boy parts. This made it extremely tricky for the nurse to find what she was looking for..but finally he decided to let us know! She got pictures from the front, back, side, and upside down! It was such a relief to FINALLY know and we could not be happier. We celebrate what turned out to be a long day by having dinner with our family. As you can imagine "The Brad Dad" as we like to call him is super excited! I was excited as well and of course immediately went shopping! Thank goodness it wasn't a girl or i am afraid of how much money i might have blown last night! Never the less, i got some really cute things! I will post some pictures of the little guy soon!

I am running a little behind...this week has been crazy between the new job and appointments but i will have the 17 week post up soon! Thanks =)
