2nd Trimester...Here We Go!

2nd Trimester...here we go!

HOW FAR ALONG14 WEEKS AS OF TODAY! 2nd Trimester here we come!
SIZE OF BABY:  BABY OZ IS THE SIZE OF A Lemon
GENDER:  WE made our APPOINTMENT this week to find out the gender of baby oz... may 15, 2012 will the day! i am so excited for this, and i know that brad is too! once we find out, we can move on to finding a name and decorating the nursery!
MATERNITY CLOTHES:  My clothes are still fitting and the bump has yet to "pop"...as i said before i keep waking up checking to see if it is there yet.
MOVEMENT:  NO, BUT WE COULD SEE IT MOVING DURING OUR ULTRASOUND last TUESDAY! BABY WAS WAVING AND KICKING. This week according to what i read the baby is able to suck its thumb and will continue moving agound....even though i won't feel it.
SLEEP:  I have been sleeping like a crazy person but this week i have got a boost of energy. I have been able to stay awake a little later, and have even been able to get a little workout in! I even went to dinner with ashley one night this week and we were out until 8:30! (i know....crazy night). Last night we were up fairly late too watching the bulls game and the NFL draft with some friends. Just for the record our little guy/girl will be cheering for the Florida Gators, dallas cowboys, and chicago bulls! i just know baby oz was cheering when the cowboys traded up last night for a number 6 pick and got Morris Caliborne from LSU! what better time to be born than the heart of football season! =)
WHAT I MISS: This may be horrible to say but i miss my wine & a VTL (vodka, tonic, lime)...especially when we are out with friends and everyone is having a drink. so sad i know...hahaha! i also miss being able to run...like really run and workout. oh, and of course i miss my diet coke (which has been the hardest thing for me to give up).
CRAVINGS:   I'M NOT HAVING ANY CRAVINGS still....i mean certain things "sound" better than others but nothing that i "have to have." i really cant wait until there is some good WATERMELON and kiwi...those are my absolute favorites!
SYMPTOMS:  My moring (aka All day) sickness is beginning to subside. it is not completely gone but it is DEFINITELY better than it was.
BEST MOMENT THIS WEEK: the best moment this week was making the appointment to find out what we are having & knowing that the first trimester is finally over! it is a relief to know that the chance of MISCARRIAGE has significantly dropped and things are PROGRESSING nicely with baby!

Energy Maybe?

Energy Maybe?

I know this may sound ridiculous but yesterday i think i had an energy surge! After work i went home, ate, and relaxed for a bit (pretty normal). My routine has been to take a shower and be in bed by 8 or 9. Trust me, i know how sad this is! But...yesterday i decided that because i wasn't exhausted i was going to go to the Y and get some exercise in. I know i wouldn't be able to make my once typical 3 mile run, so i hit the pool! I swam 4 laps and was really feeling tired, so for the remainder of the time i "water walked." I thought that this was for old people but i'm not going to lie...it was pretty relaxing and still a workout! I read that a half-hour of walking in the water is equivalent to an hour of walking on land (so that made me feel better about my choice). Also, while at the gym i picked up the exercise class schedule and started mapping out my plan for staying in shape! I am hoping that my energy surge yesterday wasn't just a tease and i will be able to do more than just sleep all the time. I am beyond sick and tired of being sick and tired!

On another note, it just hit me that we find out the sex of this baby in less than 3 weeks! I think after we know that, the excitement will really set in. I really don't want to keep referring to it as "IT"so i am starting the name hunt! We have a boy name in mind (NOT Brad or Pat) but have no clue when it comes to girl names. There is so much to consider.....1.) what will it be shortened to? 2.) will they get some horrible nickname because of it? 3.) Will the initials spell something embarrassing?--i don't think anyone would embrace the B.O. like brad did 4.) Will my kid like their name? 5.) Will i change my mind and hate it...or find something better? 6.) Will every other kid their age have the same name? ....very overwhelming! We are completely open to suggestions so if you have one please share. The sooner we can give baby oz a name the better!

Here are the top ten most popular right now!

Is it Friday Yet?

Is it Friday Yet?

I am counting down the days until Friday! Finally, the end of the first trimester and I can't wait. I am so excited, mostly because i hear that i will get my energy back and start feeling a little better (keep your fingers crossed). At this point i'm not sure its going to happen like that but heres to hoping.

I just made my appointment to find out the sex of Baby Oz yesterday and I couldn't be more excited. We are going to Bloomington, IL on May 15th for out ultrasound (aka the big reveal). I am very much a "type A" person and I can't wait to start shopping and planning. We are taking a poll at work and at home to see what others think, and so far we have mixed results. With that said, please vote on our blog and leave us your imput. It will be interesting to see who is right in a few weeks!

Also, does anyone know when the "baby bump" will show up? I have been waking up every morning sure that it will be there, like magic, and nothing. I am sure that it is different for every person but being the control freak that i am...i want to know now! That being said, don't be too sad if you don't see me posting any belly pics as it gets bigger. You will just have to search for me and my belly like Waldo... that is if  you can catch me out of hiding when i do get big!

Oh Baby!

Oh Baby!

How Far Along: 13 weeks as of TODAY!

Size of baby:  Baby Oz is the size of a peach

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Im not ready to go there yet!

Maternity Clothes:  I can still fit into my clothes, but I'm fearful that will be short lived. I have no idea when i will start "showing" but from the looks of the ultrasound it can't be far off! My mom and I went shopping and bought a lot of fall maternity clothes on sale (yay!) for the later months.

Gender:  We don't know yet but my brothers, Aunt Carol, Granny Pen and Brad think it is a boy. My mom and grandparents are still thinking it is a girl, so we are split at the moment. I can barely believe that this is real so i can't even guess yet!

Movement:  No, but we could see it moving during our ultrasound on Tuesday! Baby was waving and kicking.

Sleep:  I sleep more than i ever thought i could, it is amazing really! Most nights i am sleeping 10-12 hours and I'm not exaggerating! I know pregnancy makes you sleepy but this is beyond anything i could have expected.

What I miss: I miss being able to run with out getting tired or even being awake long enough to go running. I miss my glass of wine and feeling good. I have been sick constantly, but it is starting to subside a little bit.

Cravings:   I'm not having any cravings besides watermelon & Mexican Food which a pretty typical even before i was pregnant.

Symptoms:  I am still having some morning sickness, but it is getting better. By morning sickness i mean sickness at all times of the day (defiantly not just in the morning).

Best Moment this week:  I just told all of my friends this week and Brad got antsy and announced it to the world! I wanted him to wait another week but he is so excited, which is really cute so i can't be mad at him.Best husband quote of the week:  Brad announced the pregnancy to everyone as....
